common queries.
How do I get a code?
Install Amigo from the ConnectIQ store and it generates one automatically the first time it syncs.
What if I forget my code?
Simply toggle the 'Show My Code' setting in ConnectIQ. Just flip it once! If the watch detects you've flipped that switch from off to on or vice verse, it will display your CODE and PIN again.
How do I add amigos?
Add your friends' Amigo codes in your ConnectIQ settings. Make sure to keep them comma seperated (eg. G12345, G23456, G34567, ...).
A code AND a PIN? What's the difference?
Your code is how your amigos can track your data. Share this with whoever. Your PIN, however, is used to login to the Amigo webapp. Don't share this... it's like a password.
What do I do if my watch face isn't updating?
This is a tricky one. The Amigo watch face tries to update every 5 minutes, but sometimes bluetooth connectivity gets in the way, which can cause the Garmin OS to back off for a bit. It usually helps to open the Garmin Connect app on your phone.
Do I lose my history if I uninstall?
Yes. Amigo doesn't track any identifiable info, so if you uninstall, you'll be assigned a fresh account when you install again.
What about cheating?
It is possible to cheat. Just like you can edit stats on Strava, Amigo can be manipulated too. Just keep in mind that cutting corners ruins the fun for everyone!
What exactly does amigo track?
Steps, miles, and active calories. Data is deleted after 3 months. That's it. No heart rate history, location, or sleep data.
Is this made by Garmin?
No. Amigo is made by friends, for friends, and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Garmin.
