questions, answered.
What is amigo?
A Garmin watch face that shows how you stack up against your friends — by steps, miles, or calories. No separate app to open, no notifications. Just your rank, on your wrist, all day.
How do I get a code?
Install amigo from the Connect IQ store and it generates one automatically the first time it syncs. You'll find it any time in the watch face's settings on your device.
How do I add amigos?
Add up to 4 friends' codes from the watch app's settings. They add yours back the same way — that's the whole onboarding, no invites or accounts.
I lost my code — can I recover it?
There's no email or password behind it, so there's nothing to reset — just reopen the watch face's settings on the device where it's installed. If you reinstall fresh without that code, you'll start over with a new one.
What exactly does amigo track?
Steps, miles, and active calories, recorded once per day. That's it — no heart rate history, no location, no sleep data.
How often does it sync?
About every 15 minutes while you're wearing your watch.
Can I change the color theme?
Yes — four themes ship free with amigo, and you can switch any time from the watch face's settings.
What's the world leaderboard, and can people see my name?
It's a public, no-sign-in ranking of every amigo user by steps, miles, or calories. It only ever shows initials (up to 3 letters) and a number — never your code, and never anything else about you.
Can I share my leaderboard spot?
Not yet — a shareable leaderboard card is on the way.
Which devices are supported?
Forerunner 165 / 265 / 965, Fenix 7 / 8, Epix Pro, Venu 3, and Vivoactive 5, with more added over time.
Does amigo cost anything?
It's free.
Is this made by Garmin?
No — amigo is made by friends, for friends, and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Garmin.
